Thankfulness Thursday

I never can remember if it’s Thankfulness Thursday or Thursday Thankfulness.  Whatever.  It’s the thanks that count, right?
I’m quite pleased that the US national holiday system recognizes my tradition of being thankful on Thursday.  A whole national holiday, just for me!  Whee!  Looking forward to Spanksgiving.

All right…here we go!  I am going to ignore some irritations (grr!) that popped up yesterday and instead focus whole-heartedly on Thankfulness.

  • I’m thankful that some of my favorite naughty blogging friends, kiwiegirliegirl and playfullilbrat, are back and terrorizing blogland with their mischief.  Life might have been quieter without you two, but it was a great deal less interesting.  🙂
    .
  • I am thankful for whatever and whoever may be supporting bloggers I came to care about who have had to (temporarily or permanently) withdraw from the blogosphere: Suzie and Poppy St. Vincent and Lillie (blogs no longer active).  There are others, but today I will send thanks for those who can be with Suzie, Poppy, and Lillie in a way that I cannot.
    .
  • I am thankful for beautiful, gorgeous, crisp, wonderful weather.  I love fall.  I love the changing colors.  I love, love, love it.
    .
  • Speaking of fall, I’m doing the Autumn’s Harvest blog hop this weekend.  Thankful for the chance to talk about my favorite season!
    .
  • I’m thankful that Cara liked her Spank or Treat prize from my contest and that it was a BLAST to write.  We’ll be sharing the story with you next Tuesday.  Let’s just say I will never look at water jugs in the same way again!
    .
  • I am thankful for the chance to build community with the Love Our Lurkers event this Friday!  I will be offering a story-by-comment promotion.  I will write one sentence of a (continuing) story per comment I receive.  Does that sound like something you’d enjoy?  I think it will be Kat and Natalie.
    .
  • I’m thankful for an acceptance letter I received today.  That’s the third in seven weeks, and another manuscript is under review.  Goodness!  Three months ago I had no idea of publishing ever, and look at me now.  Every day is Christmas morning around here.  Okay, some parts of some days suck…but overall things have been great.
    .
  • I’m thankful that the specialist yesterday said I am a good candidate for and should begin the new treatment program.  However, it means 2-3 months (minimum) of treatments 2-3 times per week.  Sigh.  At least I live close to the hospital.  It’s scary when the *doctor* is the one to say, “We’ll set up an appointment for you with a financial specialist to make payment arrangements”.
    .
  • I’m thankful that I’m writing tons of books to (hopefully) pay for at least some of the treatments.  Sigh.
    .
  • I’m thankful that Kat and Natalie will make their appearance in a two-part story (completely new) this weekend.  Stay tuned for more details.  😀  I sure miss the rush of posting their daily story.
    .
  • I am thankful that one of my cost-cutting measure, getting rid of my smartphone and downgrading to talk-and-text, has actually been quite positive.  I *love* being able to say sorry, can’t respond to your email because I’m out.  Plus, the amount of money I’m saving is ridiculous.  I’m paying about $8 per month vs. the $90 I paid before.  Why on earth didn’t I do this sooner?
    .
  • I’m thankful that a shiny new Kindle will arrive in the mail soon(ish).  I justified the expense to myself by saying that it’s as if I had paid for my smartphone for another month.  It doesn’t make financial sense, but…Merry Christmas, Ana!  😀  Watch out for that spanking Mrs. Claus, eh?  😉
    .
  • I’m thankful that I got to be part of a historic election and take pride in my country’s freedom to vote.  Whether people are happy or unhappy about the results, we can elect a new leader without bloodshed or people getting sent to jail.  I’m proud and thankful for my country’s democracy.
    .
  • Oh!  I almost forgot!  Shame on me.  I’m thankful that I won Crankyspanker‘s contest and received a free book!  It’s a copy of Erica Scott‘s Late Bloomer.  Yay!  Thank you!  It looks like Crankyspanker is awarding more books, so head over and leave a comment or two.  Tell him that Ana sent you.  🙂
    .
  • Thank you to Adaline Raine for nominating me as blog of the month.  I’m ashamed that it took me this long to say thank you.

Geez. I always get all sentimental when I read your thankfulness posts. Even though I voted early, I got teary eyed when I saw the long lines of voters on TV. I got all patriotic and proud.

Thanks for these weekly reminders to be grateful and not grouchy.

I know! I got choked up watching election returns. Was mad at myself for falling asleep and missing a lot of it.

We ALL are grouchy…me most of all. But it’s good discipline to consciously choose now and then to be thankful instead. 🙂

Lovely post 🙂 thanks. Yup, good to remember to be thankful, especially after the rotten (self-imposed btw) day I had yesterday. Got myself all angry reading stuff about SSC and RACK and wanting to say a big “uh uh! you’re a stupid head!” in my most pathetic 3 year old whine. I’m thankful I got my blog post up this morning, even though I’m debating promoting it ’cause it really isn’t about romance in the way most understand.

I hope your day is much better! It is sooooo easy to get sucked into the negativity, and I do it just as well as anyone else. But I found that when I made it a sacred weekly habit, I even look forward to it. Just that one sacred safe spot…where only thankfulness is permitted. It helps to focus my heart on what is most important.

When things are difficult, that is when it is so important to look at the positive in our lives. I have so many blessings, I am very lucky. Thanks for helping us all stop to realize all that is good!

Okay, I didn’t get through the whole thing my wordy friend, but I did get as far as the doctor part. Very glad to see that there may be some new options for you and do hope that some of this new revenue will help cover the bills. Ugh..bills!

I know…I am trying not to get my hopes up because the $ may mean I have to say no or not yet. Still being silly and hoping, though. I’ve actually had a teeny-tiny improvement in the last day because just the relief of thinking there might be a solution took away a lot of stress/pressure.

      Ummmmmm and wordy? Me? 😀

So glad to see that things seem (?) to be going well for you.

I’m thankful that Fireworks Month seems to be over at last – silly loud pops upsetting my Doggie!

I’m sorry to hear that some of our blogging friends are no longer blogging. It’s so sad when that happens.

I’m very glad for all your good news, Ana! 🙂

It should be one day! But the Einsteins round here think it jolly good fun to extend it and tediously deafen everyone day and night for the entire time fireworks are available in the shops.

They’ll be sorry when my Sparkly Pink Death Ray is finished.

Aw, I’ve missed you too! Having no time for online fun is sucksville. Huggles 🙂

lol…good luck with the sparkles of death. I want to use it on my neighbors who scream for hours at 3 AM.

Yup, we have had Christmas stuff out since August…people get crazy about holidays.
