The birthday wooden spoons

This was one of the first gifts I opened, after waiting almost a week. I wanted to savor the anticipation. 🙂 (For the record, it’s two weeks past my birthday and I still have unopened cards and packages!) I could not get a good photo of it, but I tried.

The colors won’t show up as well as they do in person, but you can get a general idea.

What’s neat is that I received two spoons, so I can keep one for display and use the other one. Frankly, though, these are too pretty to use. Definitely too fragile for business use. The bowl and handle are separate parts, and any impact would be disastrous. The instructions suggest using the spoons to scoop dry ingredients such as sugar or tea.

They remind me of maracas I used in childhood music class. The handle curves in such a pretty, delicate way.

My olive wood spoon was still rather jealous at the attention for the newbies, so I inspected it after Saturday’s oiling. It looks great! The oil brought out the wood grain and gave everything a lovely glow. Shame on me for not using conditioning oil on my wooden spoons long ago!

Wooden spoons. *happy sigh* Thank you for making my birthday so special. ❤

LoL Ana, they are beautiful and do look too pretty to use. Glad you are still having fun opening gifts and cards 🙂

Hi Ana, I don’t know if I am currently developing a fetish for wooden spoons (someone has shown so much care and love for wooden spoons that it seems to rub off on others), but these wooden spoons are really gorgeous. I wouldn’t use these in the kitchen either, but put them somewhere as decoration.

Saturday’s oiling Ana! Caught ya! You gave up your wooden spoons for Lent (except Sunday). Congrats on receiving the lovely spoons…you definitely deserve them.

    Hugs and blessings…

Thank you so much for joining the discussion! Please play nicely or you may be asked to stand in the corner. ;)
